Long time no see

Uh hmm! Excuse me while I put out the cobwebs from this blog.

Hello there!

Day job's keeping us busy too much that we missed building!!!

Oh, how was your Christmas? 'ja get all the model kits you wanted? 'ja get to buy all of 'em with your hard earned moolah? Cheers to the lucky bastards who were given model kits for Christmas! :-P

How about your summer?

It was so hot where I am, the heat drove me crazy... I'm afraid my model kits and figures might melt!
Do you have a similar fear?

Rainy season started a week ago. And I haven't even finished watching Gundam Reconguista in G!
Well, I'm sorry! haha really, with too much going on at work and my personal (emotional) life, I can't seem to focus on my hobbies. WHICH is frustrating, because, you damn well need the hobby to even relax! Right? I feel the stress with all it's S's. (insert saddest face here)

I've got two boxes of unopened model kits lying around my room. I've been meaning to build them - even tried to sneak in a little building time at the office - it just did not happen. Not to mention I'm itching to buy two more! There's the MG Sinanju that I've been eyeing since like before Christ and now a new version of MG Hyaku Shiki's been out for months - we wants it. It shall be our purrrecioussss. O_O

I do have been catching up some figure time - all my SHF and Figma pre-orders have all arrived. But like their Gundam counterparts, a box or three has yet to see the light of the display shelves. (I have no lighted display shelves! what the hell am I talking about?!)

I even missed Toycon last June 19-21. >_<
My idols Jun Sabayton and Alodia Gosiengfiao were there! I wish to all heavens they'd also be on the next one. Or even the later Otaku Expos this half of the year...

Well, that's all for now on catching up. Oh, I haven't finished watching Gundam Build Fighter's Try. We must try to squeeeeeeze time! I might not do that with my bulging tummy but I might as well do it with building Gunpla! >_<

MG Char's ZAKU 2.0 and Gundam Build Fighters Ep. 01

September proved to be a "sucky" month as all sunny days have been washed away by torrential rains.
Not to mention life-energy-wasting overtime work at the office. Which, sad to say, continued on to a ghastly October.

Anyways, let's stop with that before I turn into a Dementor.

So.....my Char Zaku is done! Finally, yeah? I had to sneak in a "me" time one Sunday afternoon - just so I can panel line and do some easy pose shots.. hehehe I had fun, to say the least. I did everything while my Mom's in the background working on her laptop. teehee

I use a technical pen and a standard ink to panel line my models. Most of it doesn't last after a good deal of posing, especially if you keep touching that certain area (e.g. knees, arms) and you have well, in some cases, sweaty hands. Well, I'm an official noob and I keep forgetting to top coat after panel lining... meh.

As it is, I have an affinity for girly poses so you can already guess what I did on this set.

What I love most about this unit is it's super pose-ability despite looking massive and tense.

Enjoy!

Here he is having a chat with Exia. "Am I that pink, mate?"

On a Zeon Action Base! Action Packed! A poor instagram shot

Since, October is in the chair and the Red Comet's unit is done, I guess it's time for the next project... to wait again! Hahaha It is easily hypothetical what my next project is.

Augh! I have to envy my friends who went to the Gunpla Expo in Singapore and in Manila. I could have easily gone to the Manila expo... the weather just didn't cooperate. I did attend the Otaku Expo with two of my Gunpla Otaku friends where there was a Gunpla Caravan and some model building competition... which I didn't cooperate in (obviously because I am a noob).

There's this new Gundam series titled Gundam Build Fighters, it should be fun, don't you think? Here's an episode 1 I found on Youtube (already, right?)! Enjoy!

Procrastinator: The Wait of Char's Zaku 2.0

This has been my anthem for the last two months.

I guess old habits die hard.

Char's salmon Zaku has been sitting on my desk for a month now and I'm all up to the upper body parts as to date.

Well, I'm awfully loaded on the weekends!

This has been my weekend schedule:

10:00 pm (Friday) - 10:00 am (Saturday) = SLEEP
10:00 am - 2:00 pm = EAT
2:00 pm - 7:00 pm = SLEEP
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm = EAT, FACEBOOK, MOVIE
10:00 pm - 1:00 am (Sunday) = CANDY CRUSH (!)
1:00 am - 10:00 am =SLEEP
Repeat

See how busy I am?!

At least, one highlight I was really having fun with was my discovery underneath the Zaku torso - just 'coz I'm a sucker for funny faces.

"WHOA MY GAHD!"

I couldn't stop giggling when I saw this!!! LOOK AT IT!! Some kinda WALL-E funny shit! I thought it WAS funny so I took another shot.

LOL. It's like it saw something he shouldn't have seen!!! Which was...maybe... ME. O_O

hahahahahahahah!

EH-nyway.Although that part was funny I had a kind of hard time with those teeny weeny cylinders. They were grouped together and you had to snip away carefully bit by bit, then slide them over to the real cable.

Between the torso and the arms, my much awaited comic title was released. So when I got back home after the comic release, all I ever touched was the comic. Marvel put out this awesome new gig for the X-Men and it's an all woman team! I love how they re-conceptualize their outfits to fit the individual X-Men's needs. Arrgh. Couldn't wait to get the next issue. My 'dealer' has already alerted me that they have it in stock now!

The arm was a pretty solid build, nothing fancy (as in the words of experienced gunplars). My problem came with the really cool hand. Unlike the 3 previous models I have built before, this comes with the very complex finger points, it is after all a Zaku 2.0. It has all the articulation points close to a real hand, I had a tough time cutting away the small pieces and sticking 'em together - unlike the Epyon where you just slip on the pre-bent  fingers on a slit in the hand.

Ain't nobody got time fo' dat!

Sometime after that, DC released the new Superman title 'Superman Unchained', consequently with the movie release of 'Man of Steel'. I thought it was high time for me to get me attached to Superman like I did with Batman, so I went down to Castle Geek to go get me a copy along with the new Killjoy comics by my crush My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way. I got a bit depressed over the weekend, though, because I couldn't have the time to go out and watch Man of Steel on the big screen. And you guessed right, building was delayed for another week.

This was all I came up with that weekend.

The next week, I was feeling kinda sorry for the Zaku. I thought, "Hey, Char is waiting for his unit. You can't let Char wait." I went down to business as soon as I got home. And... well... I still didn't finish it.

I was super excited that I got to finish the upper body, that when I caught a glimpse of its decals - shit, I wan't those decals on, NOW! So there goes my time - wasted on putting on the dry transfers and the teeny weeny stickers.

Pink!

Around that time and now I had a drastic change to my appearance. I had absolutely long hair just two weeks ago, I had 'em chopped off and BAM! I've never looked and felt this GOOD before!

To which the Zaku did not reciprocate:

Finish me now, fucker.

Well, as the song says;

"You gotta count on me, I'm gonna get it done, get it done - before the night segues the day - we gotta operate!" - Procrastinator, Sandwich
Hope my next post will be about the dramatic ending of Mr. Zaku and a new hope (or beginning) for a new model kit. ^_^

Seeing the Wing Gundam Ver Ka

Easter Sunday is always a relief.

Early today me and my extended fam were out walking around this sweet mountaintop golf course in one of the country's cool tourist cities.

Anyways. Enjoyed a lot but suffered some cause you know, its a walk. Haha

Well, before I head back to my day job in the big Makati City tomorrow, I thought I'd share my latest development with the Wing Gundam Ver. Ka. Not that it's that big of an addition. LOL Noob alert!

As I completed the torso and arms yesterday, I pulled out my camera and started to fool around.

Birdie!

It reminds me of SailorMoon uniforms. LOL
You fold 'em down for when you transform into Bird Mode! Coolness

One does not simply imitate a very famous meme.

Come on, man, I'm not even complete yet!

BFFs!

Literally "hanging" around with good ol' buddy Epyon!

Well, now that the holidays are officially over, I'm gonna head out to the real world once again. I'll be coming back to finish him off next weekend! (I hope!).

And here's a view from today's getaway! My first time riding a funicular! >_<

Going down, motherfuckers!

Pink shall Rule us All

I told you I'm not over.

Here she is with pink beam swords on both hands, her shield and one short and one long GN Swords on either side of her pink hips. LOL

Resourcefulness, bow.

Besides being a noob both in kit building and gunpla, I'm also short on the financial side, so I have to make do with what I already have.

I found this cutesy ultra-pink Victoria's Secret Bombshell box in my closet, and said "Hey, why not?"

So now, my gunpla accessories and tools have a temporary home - until I find a much more suitable storage unit.

It's so "kikay". ><

What Happens When You Don't Clean Your Room

huhu i want to cry..

mi Papa cleaned my room while I was away! Now I can't find my things!

What's worse, the decals for the MG EPYON are missing!

I see Wings!

My next project is an MG Gundam Epyon OZ-13MS.

Meh.

I'm taking my time with this one. My Exia was built in only two nights time (for a starter it was quite fast, I heard experts do it in hours). Beside my day job taking most of my weeknights, I leave my kits at home (my workplace and hometown are a region apart so I reside in metro on weekdays). I can only really work on them on weekends. Imagine my anxiety to get out of work every Friday. I guess taking time makes it more special (You know what? I think God is doing that to my love life).

Anyhow, I took this kit for my next project because it looks so bad ass. I read reviews about this and everything looks awesome on their side! Gaijin Gunpla gave it an 85.7% score for review and I'm someone who believes in percentages.

I don't remember Epyon in action so here's a video I'm watching as I update my blog. A final battle between Zechs and Heero.

This is actually an epic fight! Makes me want to see the series all over again! And with this epic video seen, I already have a kit in mind for the next project after this! Awesome, no?

For the mean time, I'm fooling around with the unfinished parts.

That torso looks like a face.

I'm loving her shoulders.

"I'm incomplete, so what?"

Tried panel lining the head, looks fine.
 a
"Ha! My sexy legs!"

"Rawr! Badass green-eyed feet!"

I actually built the shield first.

"Don't attack me, feet!"

"Nomnomnom"

Ooh, I think this will be lovely.

MG GN-001 Exia Trans-Am Mode

My very first Master Grade. Trans-Am Mode =  Pink. 'Nuff said.

I wanted my first master grade to be feminine in color. It was great that I stumbled upon this kit early  on because it was one of the last stocks in the store for the season.

Since the only series I've seen is Wing (I didn't even finish watching it), I generally didn't have any idea why this was called Trans-Am or why it was pink when I bought it. Thanks to this video, now I know!

As you may know, I am a noob and this kit wasn't built from the best of my abilities. My friend pointed out (after I posted some pics on Facebook) that Exia's eyes were not aligned. So, they were - I didn't try to fix it, though - too lazy. Hihi

Well, you won't be seeing any work-in-progress photos of this kit, though. I didn't find my damn camera until a month after I was done. Plus, edited photos are more fun! ^_^

I had loved working with MG that I think couldn't settle for less on my next kits. Although, my first try at building was on Entry Grades I found on a toy store at the mall. They were cute but I wanted something I can play and have fun with. And Exia was a damn fine creation when it came to articulation! I was all over the place trying to get her nice poses and giggled when I had her in a fine position. hihihi

Yes, that is a rice cooker.

Yah see? Her eyes are not aligned. hihi
Exia with my Entry Grade kits aaaand Chowder.
Not only am I a gunpla noob, I'm also a photography noob.
Classic flash photo
.
Quite an awkward pose, but who cares?

Something is sticking out of your legs!

So, since she was a lonely MG, I tried my photoshop skills so she can have someone to play with - herself.

My favorite edited picture.

The other reason I bought this kit - pink LEDs!
